Where a themed store quietly loses money, and how this template fixes it.

Problems it solves

A slow store loses sales

Every extra second on mobile costs conversions. This storefront renders on the server with a tuned image pipeline, so Core Web Vitals stay green and shoppers do not bounce.

Every change takes weeks

A themed monolith turns small edits into dev tickets. Here the UI is one component kit driven by design tokens, so copy, layout and brand changes ship in hours.

Search and SEO leak traffic

Weak markup buries products in Google and hides them from AI answer engines. You get clean structured data, FAQ schema and semantic HTML, so both classic search and tools like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews can read and cite your store.

You are locked into a theme

Most templates trap your storefront on one platform. This one is backend-agnostic and self-hostable, so you own the code and switch backends by config.

Most storefront templates solve one slice. This one covers the whole stack, and stays yours.

Not another theme

A typical template

  • ×Locked to one platform, Shopify or Magento
  • ×Theme CSS you cannot cleanly re-skin
  • ×Speed and accessibility left for you to fix
  • ×Content hard-wired, no CMS of your choice
  • ×Hosted for you, so you never really own it

This template

  • One UI on both Shopify and Magento, swap by config
  • One design system on tokens, re-theme per brand
  • Green Core Web Vitals, WCAG 2.2 AA and Lighthouse enforced in CI
  • Content from Sanity, Contentful, Payload or AEM
  • Self-host on your own infra and own the code

A complete storefront, ready to connect to your data.

An embeddable AI chat you can configure for any business goal, from guiding shoppers and answering product, order and returns questions to capturing leads.

The features that turn a one-time buyer into a regular, and give people a reason to pick you over a cheaper competitor.

Keep shoppers coming back

Points that add up

A real loyalty ledger, not a badge: shoppers earn on every order and redeem points for discounts. Points that expire give a gentle nudge to come back before a competitor does.

Gift cards that recruit buyers

Shoppers buy a gift card and send it to a friend by email. The recipient becomes a new customer who often spends more than the card is worth.

Loyalty and gift cards live inside your store, not a rented third-party app. Shoppers stay where their points and balance are, so they come back to you first.

Every screen is built from one token-driven component kit. No hand-written CSS, no visual drift, and a full re-theme is a token change, not a rebuild.

One design system, not a throwaway theme

Design tokens, zero hand-written CSS

Colors, spacing and type live as tokens. The whole store reads from them, so the look is consistent by construction.

Re-theme per brand in minutes

Remap the tokens and the entire storefront follows. Run several brands from one codebase, each with its own runtime theme.

A real component library

Buttons, cards, forms and product blocks are shared, accessible primitives, so new pages look right the first time.

Consistent in light and dark

Theming covers light and dark and passes color-contrast checks, so nothing breaks when the palette changes.

This is composable commerce: bring your own backend, content and search, and swap any layer by config, not a rewrite.

Plugs into your stack

Commerce

Your products, cart and checkout backend.

Content CMS

Where your blog, pages and store locations live.

SanityContentfulPayloadAdobe Experience Manager

Search

Algolia when configured, built-in search otherwise, and one interface to plug in any search API.

Built-in facetedAlgoliaMagento

Shopify keeps its hosted checkout; Magento runs a headless GraphQL checkout. Swapping any layer is a config change, not a rewrite.

The engineering that keeps it fast, accessible and safe in production.

Built to a production bar

Backend-agnostic core

The UI talks to one normalized model. Shopify and Magento adapters sit behind the same contract, so the interface never knows which backend it runs on.

Tested to a production bar

460+ automated tests, per-package coverage thresholds, and a shared contract suite every adapter must pass. No skipped checks.

Accessibility enforced

WCAG 2.2 AA is verified by axe and Playwright in CI on every change, not bolted on before launch.

Performance gated

Lighthouse runs in CI on performance, accessibility and SEO, so a regression fails the build.

Self-host ready

A standalone Docker image with Redis keeps caching and revalidation consistent across replicas on your own servers.

Secure by default

Backend keys stay server-side, a strict content security policy ships on every route, and error messages never leak internals.

Strict, enforced standards

Prettier, ESLint and Husky pre-commit hooks keep every commit clean. No skipped checks and no suppressions, so the codebase stays healthy as it grows. This is the setup most teams cut, and it is why this one does not rot.

Type-safe end to end

TypeScript strict everywhere and Zod-validated data boundaries catch bad data and broken contracts before they ever reach production.

Answer-engine ready (AEO)

FAQ and product structured data, semantic HTML and an llms.txt make the store readable and citable by ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, not just classic search.

Questions store owners ask

Real answers to the questions store owners search for, structured so AI answer engines can cite them.

Do I have to leave Shopify?

No. The template runs on top of Shopify and keeps its checkout. You get a faster, custom storefront while your orders, payments and admin stay where they are.

Can it run on Magento?

Yes. The same storefront runs on Magento through a headless GraphQL connection, with an in-app checkout flow.

What is headless or composable commerce?

Headless means the storefront (what shoppers see) is separate from the commerce backend (Shopify or Magento), connected by an API. Composable means each layer, backend, content, search, is a swappable piece you choose. In practice you get a faster, fully custom store while your platform keeps running the orders and payments.

How much does a headless storefront cost?

It depends on your catalog and integrations. Because most of the store is already built and tested, you pay to connect your data and brand, not to rebuild a storefront from zero. Book a call and I will give you a fixed quote.

Can it work with commercetools or another platform?

Yes. The storefront talks to a single normalized model, so a new adapter can be built for commercetools, BigCommerce or any commerce API on request. The same is true for search and CMS, any layer can be extended to the tool you prefer.

Does it have customer accounts and returns?

Yes. Shoppers can sign in to see order history, save a wishlist and addresses, and start and track returns themselves. An optional AI assistant can guide them and answer product, order and returns questions right on the store.

Is headless commerce worth it for my store?

If speed, SEO and a custom experience move revenue for you, yes. If you run a small catalog and a stock theme already converts well, a theme may be enough. On a call I will tell you honestly which fits.

How is this different from a normal Shopify theme?

A theme is limited to Shopify Liquid and its performance ceiling. This is an app-level custom storefront, so you get faster pages, full design control, and the option to change backends later.

Can you migrate my existing store?

Yes. Your products, orders and customers stay in Shopify or Magento. The template replaces the storefront on top, so there is no risky data migration.

Do I need a developer to run it day to day?

No. Products and content are managed in Shopify or Magento and your CMS. A developer is only needed for the initial setup and larger custom changes.

Where does my content come from?

Your blog, pages, navigation and store locations are managed in Sanity, Contentful, Payload or Adobe Experience Manager. A ready Payload CMS is included if you do not have one.

Is it mobile-friendly?

Yes. It is mobile-first, installable as a PWA, and mobile Core Web Vitals are checked automatically on every change.

Does it support multiple languages and currencies?

It ships in multiple languages and adds more by config. Currency and market settings follow your Shopify or Magento setup.

Where do I host it, and what does hosting cost?

You can self-host it with Docker and Redis on your own servers, or deploy to a platform like Vercel. You own the code either way, so you are never locked to one host.

Is it good for SEO and speed?

Yes. Green Core Web Vitals and structured data are part of the template and checked automatically, so speed and SEO are not an afterthought.

Is my data and checkout secure?

Backend keys never reach the browser, a strict content security policy ships on every page, and no third-party trackers load until you add them, so it stays GDPR-friendly by default.

Do I own it, and do you support it after launch?

Yes to both. You self-host and own the code, and it is built and maintained by one architect who knows it end to end, so you have a direct line for fixes and changes.

Will my store show up in AI search and ChatGPT answers?

Yes. The storefront ships with FAQ and product structured data, clean semantic HTML and an llms.txt, which is exactly what answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews read to understand and cite a site. This page itself is built that way.

How long does it take to launch?

For a standard catalog, days to a couple of weeks, not months. Most of the store is already built and tested, so the work is connecting your data and applying your brand.

Can I fully customize the design?

Yes. Everything is driven by design tokens and a real component library, so colors, type and layout bend to your brand without fighting a rigid theme.
